چکیده
This article aims to present a Free Dialogic Logic [FDL] as general framework for hypothesis generation in the practice of modelling science. Our proposal is based on idea that inferential function models fulfil during process (surrogate reasoning) should be carried out without ontological commitments. The starting point achieve our objective scientific consideration target symptom that, one hand, Applicability considered among conditions adequacy take into account all modeling and, other, apparatus at base surrogate reasoning must rid realistic assumptions lead erroneous conclusions. In this sense, we propose an alternative ontologically neutral system perspective dialogical pragmatism.

Surrogate-Based Hypothesis Test without Surrogates
Fourier surrogate data are artificially generated time series, that — based on a resampling scheme — share the linear properties with an observed time series. In this paper we study a statistical surrogate hypothesis test to detect deviations from a linear Gaussian process with respect to asymmetry in time (Q-statistic). We apply this test to a Fourier representable function and obtain a repres...
متن کاملFormalizing Ontological Commitments
Formalizing the ontological commitment of a logical language means offering a way to specify the intended meaning of its vocabulary by constraining the set of its models, giving explicit information about the intended nature of the modelling primitives and their a priori relationships. We present here a formal definition of ontological commitment which aims to capture the very basic ontological...

This paper is partly inspired by a well-known debate between Ruth Barean Marcus, Terence Parsons and W. V. O. Quine in the sixties) coneerning the extent to whieh Quantified Modal Logie ('QMr: heneeforth) is committed to Hessentialism"; the issue nevertheless goes back to the origins of "analytic philosophy': to the reflections of Frege, Russell, and the eadier Wittgenstein on the nature of log...
متن کاملModal Logic As Dialogical Logic
The title reflects my conviction that, viewed semantically, modal logic is fundamentally dialogical; this conviction is based on the key role played by the notion of bisimulation in modal model theory. But this dialogical conception of modal logic does not seem to apply to modal proof theory, which is notoriously messy. Nonetheless, by making use of ideas which trace back to Arthur Prior (notab...
